The ninth day of the ninth month according to the Chinese lunar calendar is known as the Double Ninth Festival – a day dedicated as the “Senior Citizens’ Day” for the Chinese community. This day is an annual tradition where family members will gather to pay their respect to the seniors.
This year, the Double Ninth Festival falls on Sunday 09 October 2016 and we celebrated with the residents of Greenslopes Retirement Home in Templestowe.
众所周知，农历的九月九日是中国传统的重阳节，也就是我们中国俗语所称的“老人节”。按照中国的传统，在每一年的这一天，各个家庭都会齐聚一堂，共同爱戴孝顺家中的年长者，与他们共享天伦之乐。
今年，九九重阳节于新历8月9日。我们邀请了许多年长者们，在我们的志愿者和工作人员共同努力下，我们在Greenslopes Templestowe 州政府的低护养老设施内一起欢庆佳节，一起度过了美好的一天。
